What happened at Twincling Connect

As ever I was late. Thank God!. The session just started when I got in. The first talk was by Naresh. He gave his talk on Gaming and the idea that he had. Covered topics ranging from the Gaming scenario in India to MMORPGs. Then Sugandh (A guy from Amazon) gave his opinion on Naresh's idea. Couple of note worthy points from Sugandh were - Rather than setting a platform and gathering audience for your app and building reputation for it, leverage the existing audience to get quick returns. He quoted example of the game he developed, a facebook app. You always have two options - One is to do what you wanted to do and the other is to do do what money makes you to do. Personally I choose the first. Then next up was Sugandh. Trust me this guy brought the clouds along (And it even rained !!). That was a good talk. Two people from Vijayawada had come and they happened to speak on Grid computing. Dint get much of those talks. But the discussion on "Grid Vs Cloud" was good. Manohar and research journal was the next. Lot of discussion went on. Later, there were talks on Unity project and JShell of Twincling (Sorry brothers forgot your names). An interesting talk was given by Prasad and the concept of User popularity ratings was too good.

In the mean time, me and my brother Sandeep had a small chat with our team and then decided to present a couple of ideas. Then the team's opening players - the best combo Sandeep and Sandeep went on the field. Sandeep presented his idea of having components with multiple interfaces. The next one was on Search by Sandeep. Time was running short so had to stop. Then finally Manohar gave tips on Google Summer of Code and how to be a part of it.

In all, Total fun. Thanks to team twincling for Connect, Open SUSE, T-Shirts, Tweets and Puffs  (Namita should have a smile after reading this).

DownloadThemAll! - A Firefox add-on

Few days back I had a situation when I had to download around 200 odd excel files from an ftp link. I was wondering if downloading them one after the other was the only way. Then while googling I found this great add-on to Firefox that could accomplish my task without any pain. DownloadThemAll is an add-on to Firefox which acts as a download manager. It even does tasks like the one I have just described. This firefox add-on can be downloaded at the Firefox's official website: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/201 . The home page of it is DownloadThemAll! It has been downloaded 9 million times already. Come on, get hands over it and try it. A nice add-on in total.
